The cave is situated about
4 km from Nerja. Discovered
in 1959, it is among the most
beautiful caves in Europe due
to its stalactite and stalagmite
formations.
It was inhabited by man
30,000 years ago and
there are still cave paintings
from the Superior Palaeolithic.
Once a year, in July, music and
Dance festivals are celebrated here, which make the caves the most important cultural venue on the Costa del Sol.
