You cannot miss it in Nerja
Nerja is the jewel of the Costa del Sol. It has beautiful beaches, the famous Balcon de Europe and the great Cuevas de Nerja where one can study thousands of years of history or visit in August its popular and magic musical and dancing festival. Nerja offers the visitor a wide variety of possibilities to enjoy:
Gastronomy
Based on the so popular Mediterranean diet, in the gastronomy of Nerja there are dishes such as fresh fish, cod tortillitas with molasses or migas.
In Nerja there are lots of tapas bars, restaurants and seafood restaurants of a great quality. Some examples are: the traditional Pulguilla,with a great variety in tapas of fish and seafood; Redondo , where you can taste a wide number of different dishes; El Niño, with its specialties as: “habas con jamón” or “ensaladillas”; El Puntilla, with its aubergine with molasses; or the numerous and different aromatic teas of Arabic origin in Zaidín.
Also a lot of restaurants and bars of international food can be found (Italians, Mexicans, Indians…)
Free Time
All night life in Nerja can be found at Tutifruti, it is a place where all Young people get together during the night to dance and enjoy night life in the different bars that offer each one its musical style and where you can enjoy fiesta. There are also other places more relaxed to enjoy music in a beautiful scenery such as the “Cochrans Bar” and its terrace, with sightseeing to the beach of the Salón or the Papagayo bar, that during the summer time offers jazz, flamenco or rock concerts in the beach of Calahonda.
If you like flamenco, there are bars where you can enjoy life music; “El Burro Blanco”. Another alternative is to assist to the Centro Cultural Villa de Nerja, with its great and diverse shows of music, theatre and national and international cinema.
As in any spanish villaje, in Nerja there are a lot of local fiestas, that during the whole year bring happiness to spanish and foreigners of all nationalities:
